Logging into the course website
To access course modules (past or current) registered for, you must login. These are the ones you were sent in the email telling you of your enrolment. You will then be able to go to your two course modules (as well as to the Student corner). Please enter your login details here, starting with your username and password in the login section (marked in red). When done, hit the login button. In an event of unsuccessful login or having any problem related to the course website, please send an email to the Peoples-uni support team (techsupport@peoples-uni.org) stating your problem and you will be attended to immediately.

Once you are enrolled, you can access your courses by going to 'My courses' which you will find both in the 'Profile bar' and in the 'Navigation block'. For returning students, the 'My course' page will have both past and current modules registerd for.

Logging into course website - Updating users profile
Users can update their profile in the course website. Changing your email address, uploading an image (which is advised), setting email digest types can all be done. To update your profile, you can do this using the 'Settings block' which is located on the left. Click on the 'My Profile' dropdown button to expand the tree menu. Then click on the 'Edit profile'.

Make your changes in the edit profile windows, when done scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Update Profile' to save any changes made.


Alternatively, you can edit your profile by selecting 'My Proflie' from the 'Profile bar' and navigating to the 'edit profile' on the 'settings block'.

Messages and Messaging
You can send and receive messages to and from other users and to also be notified of events like forum posts. This comes to play when you want to send information to students you are facilitating. To access your messages go to the NAVIGATION block and click on My profile -> Messages.

The messaging screen is divided into two parts: The left side displays a list of people you may send messages to while the right side displays either your message history with a user (after you select a person from the list on the left) or search results if you are performing a search.

Message Notifications
You can choose to be notified when you receive a new message or when some other events occur such as new forum posts. To access these settings, in the SETTINGS block click on My profile settings collapsable menu, then click on Messaging.

You can choose whether to be notified and how to be notified. You can be notified by email, or a popup within Moodle.


Logging into the course website - Upload profile picture
The user's profile picture can be changed at any time. To do this, go to the 'edit profile' window and scroll down to the User Picture section.

Hit the Choose a file button. In the file selector window, select 'Upload a file' then hit the choose a File button. Select the desired picture to upload and hit the Upload this file button.


When done, please scroll to the botton of the edit profile window to save changes made.
Logging into the course website - Email digest types
Peoples-uni users can set how emails from forums are sent to them. This is called email digest type. There are three types of email digest modes available for users to choose from.
No digest - Users receive emails from forums on every post
Complete – Daily email with full post (One mail per day with all post)
Subject – Daily email with subjects only (One mail per day with subjects of the posts only)
To change email digest types, choose the option that applies to you in the 'edit profile' window (please refer to 'Updating users profile' section on how to get to the 'edit profile' window) and click 'Update Profile' to save your changes.

Logging into the course website - Blogging
Blog (web log) or blogging is like a diary entries about personal experiences and hobbies. It is usually maintained by a user, and could contain regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events etc. People blog anything, keep track of discoveries, solutions to research problems, etc. and can share this information to others who share the same interest and passion alike. You can register your external blogs to your profile. To set your blog details, in the 'settings block', locate 'My profile settings'.

In the Blog dropdown menu, 'Preferences' sets the number of blog entries to be displayed, while 'External blogs' and 'Register an external blog' are used to manage external blog intergration to your Peoples-uni profile. Remember to click the 'Save Changes' button when done.

To logout, select 'Logout' in the 'Profile bar'
